La Jolla · Full Renovation / New Build

What began as a 1930s beach cottage in La Jolla became a complete reimagining — a modern coastal residence built from the ground up to match the way our clients live today. With only one original wall retained, this project is essentially a new build, featuring custom finishes throughout, a polished concrete slab floor, and 25-foot pocketing glass doors that dissolve the boundary between indoors and out. Structural steel beams and posts open the floor plan to the ocean air, light, and sound of the waves just beyond. A custom staircase crafted from reclaimed white oak — milled and installed by our team — connects the original single-story footprint to a new second floor, while hand-milled corbels with individual metal weatherproofing caps line the roofline, adding character at every turn.
