La Jolla · Whole-Home Renovation
This La Jolla renovation is a study in craftsmanship and precision — a home where every detail was shaped by hand and every challenge became an opportunity. The design centers on organic, flowing forms: elliptical wood arches with continuous grain running seamlessly around each curve, a sculptural entry staircase with a railing hand-carved on site to resemble a piece of driftwood, and over 35 feet of sliding glass that pocket completely out of sight. Behind that effortless indoor/outdoor connection sits a massive structural steel beam engineered to carry the full weight of the roof, with ceiling pitches and exterior finishes carefully adjusted so it reads as though it was always part of the home. Neutral tones and natural curves replace rigid edges throughout, giving the house an organic warmth that blends nature and architecture into something that feels less like a showpiece and more like home.
